Given Quitman's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Northeast Jones is ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for AUDRIANA HARRIS, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of KIARRA THOMPSON, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Northeast Jones' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diamond Robinson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Falasia Cooley, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Quitman has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Northeast Jones, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Quitman will head out on the road to challenge Mendenhall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mendenhall is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Northeast Jones, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
