Gretna has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chatham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hawks will welcome the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Gretna knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Chatham likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Gretna took their game with ease, bagging a 56-28 victory over Dan River. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Gretna had a senior duo take command as Khalil Waller rushed for 326 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry and Rayshaun Logan rushed for 135 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries. Those 326 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Waller. Gretna also got help from Tysen Miller, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Gretna didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Dan River to a completion percentage of just 44%. The team can thank Yeve Anthony for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Gretna; they were averaging 61.8%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 61.8%.
Gretna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Ja'Marion Jones-Carter led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Chatham brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past William Campbell 36-0 on Friday. The Cavaliers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Chatham's win came from a few key players Gretna will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Vanderhyde, who rushed for 90 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also threw for 41 yards and one TD.
Gretna's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Chatham, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4.
Everything came up roses for Gretna against Chatham in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 38-0 victory. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
