In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ezekial Daley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Eddy Tinajero was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Lake Placid always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, McKeel Academy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Braves.
Caleb Clanton tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.
On the hitting side, McKeel Academy got a massive performance out of Aedan Tompkins, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jorge Cordova, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Lake Placid and bumps their season record up to 7-11. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing ten hits in those games compared to only 5.31 in the others. As for McKeel Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
