If The Lubbock T Titans were riding high off their 45-20 takedown of the Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lubbock T was beaten by Fort Worth THESA 73-28 on Saturday. Lubbock T was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Worth THESA apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Despite the loss, Lubbock T saw an underclassman step up: Isaac Kelly rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Kelly was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Fort Worth THESA's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trac Carlson led the charge by rushing for 142 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Naumann, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Lubbock T's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Happy and 8-1 O'Donnell (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73.8% over those games). As for Fort Worth THESA, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Lubbock T does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fort Worth THESA also has no future games currently scheduled.
