The Bishop Shanahan Eagles will challenge the Unionville Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Shanahan will be strutting in after a victory while Unionville will be coming in after a defeat.
Bishop Shanahan took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They skirted past Avon Grove 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 16, 2025.

Bishop Shanahan let Owen McGrory and Brody Scullin run wild. McGrory went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Scullin went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three runs gave McGrory a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Unionville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-3 to Downingtown East. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by exactly four runs.
Andrew Palahunik was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Gavin Griffith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Unionville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bishop Shanahan, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Shanahan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Unionville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bishop Shanahan skirted past Unionville 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Longhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
