The Evansville Memorial Tigers entered their tilt with the Henderson County Colonels with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Evansville Memorial sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over Henderson County on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Evansville Memorial's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 63rd in Indiana, while Henderson County is ranked 13th in Kentucky).
It was another big night for Tucker Tornatta, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Luke Ellspermann was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Evansville Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Henderson County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-3.
Evansville Memorial and Evansville Harrison will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Evansville Harrison is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Henderson County, they will face off against Castle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
