The Patuxent Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 50-28 defeat at the hands of Northern. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Patuxent has suffered against Northern since February 14, 2018.
Autumn Kern was Patuxent's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Kern also led the team in assists with four.
Northern was led to victory by Makayla Marvray and Mikayla Jones. Marvray scored 17 points along with two steals, while Jones scored 11 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marvray has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Erin Murphy, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Patuxent's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-8. As for Northern, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patuxent will take on Westlake at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Westlake is ranked 207th, while Patuxent is ranked 220th). As for Northern, they will head out on the road to square off against Lackey at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
