The Islands Sharks were the 54-30 winner over the St. Andrew's Lions when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Islands took a serious blow against St. Andrew's on Tuesday, falling 46-17. Islands has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Andrew's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gray Holmes led the charge by scoring 6 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals. Holmes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Dare, who scored 16 points.
Islands' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Andrew's, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Islands will head out on the road to face off against Memorial Day at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Andrew's, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against St. Vincent's at 7:15 p.m.
