After flying high against Pansophia Academy last Wednesday, the Hamilton Marines came back down to earth. Hamilton was dealt a 66-10 loss at the hands of Lakewood Park Christian on Thursday. Hamilton has not had much luck with Lakewood Park Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Ava Mcgrade continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakewood Park Christian, going 9 for 16 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 2 assists. The matchup was Mcgrade's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Carnahan, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and five assists.
Hamilton's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Lakewood Park Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethany Christian at 10:00 a.m. on December 29th. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against New Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
