Fort Wayne Canterbury is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Lakewood Park Christian by a score of 6-3. The game was the first time the Cavaliers have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 23, 2018.

Andrew Maloblocki and JP Rohwer were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Maloblocki tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Meanwhile, Rohwer tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Maloblocki went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Rohwer went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Rohwer has become a key player for Fort Wayne Canterbury: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Reed Hayes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Fremont can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Fort Wayne Canterbury, Fremont also got a great game from a two-way player: Cayden Hufnagle. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Hufnagle a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Fremont let Colten Guthrie and Taylor Rodriguez run wild. Guthrie went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Rodriguez has posted since back in May. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Foster, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fremont's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
Fort Wayne Canterbury might still be hurting after the 15-4 defeat they got from Fremont in their previous matchup back in May. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
