Given Transit Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Brooklyn Tech is ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Brooklyn Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chadwyck Beckford. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Beckford's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Hornbeck, who scored 18 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Transit Tech and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Brooklyn Tech, they bumped their record down to 6-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
