The Northampton Blue Devils will take on the Chicopee Pacers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Northampton took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Monson with a sharp 13-5 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Greta Lepore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Northampton got a massive performance out of Avery Hicks, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Talia Garretson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Northampton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Chicopee strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Ware a 23-0 shutout. While the Pacers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Northampton, Chicopee also got a great game from a two-way player: Raelyn Loud. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Loud was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adeline Olbrych was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brianna Cole was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
Chicopee's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Northampton, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Northampton has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Chicopee struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northampton suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Chicopee in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Will the Blue Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
