The Western Plains Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Wheatland-Grinnell at home and fell 64-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Western Plains has scored all season.
Wheatland-Grinnell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Bixenman, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bixenman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karoline Schroeder, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Western Plains bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Plains will challenge Cheylin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
