Victory Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 48-28 to the Lotus School For Excellence Meteors. One positive for the Knights, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Ariana Orozco and Joselyn Ruiz certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Orozco posted seven points and eight boards, while Ruiz earned four points and 11 rebounds.
Lotus School For Excellence found their leader in freshman Salma Khalif, who went 10 for 22 en route to 22 points along with eight boards and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Khalif has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Newal Tahir, who put up ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.
Victory Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lotus School For Excellence, they moved to 2-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
Victory Prep Academy will face off against Mile High Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
