The Parkland Matadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 61-37 loss to Hanks might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Parkland has suffered since December 15, 2023.
Parkland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Whitt, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Whitt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Anthony Allen, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Parkland's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-15. As for Hanks, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ysleta the next time they take the court. Hanks will host Ysleta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Parkland will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
