It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Woodinville Falcons can now relate to. They were dealt a 41-0 defeat at the hands of Lake Stevens on Friday. While losing is never fun, Woodinville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Lake Stevens is ranked first).
Levi Grothen threw for 171 yards on 11 of 32 attempts. Casey Larson was his top target, picking up 118 receiving yards. On the ground, Chase Rudin rushed for 37 yards.
Jayshon Limar was a one-man wrecking crew for Lake Stevens as he rushed for 245 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Limar was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. David Brown got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Woodinville's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lake Stevens, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Woodinville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lake Stevens will play host again and welcome Kennedy Catholic, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
