Despite the defeat, Mulberry Grove saw an underclassman step up: Jackson Icenogle dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Icenogle's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hagan Henrichsmeyer, who scored 9 points.
Mulberry Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Martinsville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.
