The Spring Valley Timberwolves will venture away from home to face off against the Wayne Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wayne took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Spring Valley, who comes in off a win.
Spring Valley gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 11-6 win over Woodrow Wilson. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Timberwolves considering their two-run performance the match before.

Jonah Harrold was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Cole Ferguson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Parker Phillips was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Spring Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodrow Wilson struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Wayne didn't have quite enough to beat Scott on Saturday and fell 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pioneers have suffered against the Skyhawks since April 19, 2021.
Wayne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Prater, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
The victory got Spring Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Spring Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Wayne when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
