7A District 6 recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. Cloud, who took down 170th ranked St. Cloud, 30-10.
Osceola extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 6 this week by beating Celebration, 48-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
The Storm's dynamic duo of William Santry and Chayse Meierkort proved tough for Osceola to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Santry threw for 11 yards and Meierkort had 11 yards receiving. Flavio Fornasari helped Celebration's passing attack out by catching one ball for one yard.
STAFON McCRAY was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 11 carries, he ran for 109 yards as Doug Nichols's team lost to Doug Nichols's team. Teammate AKIEL HAMILTON added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.
Ed Meierkort's team's Santry and Johnny Victor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Santry has thrown for 564 yards this season, while Victor, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has eight catches for 267 yards. The Kowboys' McCRAY leads the league in rushing yards with 386.
Osceola moved up to 44 from 81 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 7A District 6. The Kowboys were able to make the jump by beating the Storm 48-0.
