On Friday, the St. Ignatius Wildcats faced the Lutheran East Falcons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Ignatius strolled past Lutheran East with points to spare, taking the game 69-54. St. Ignatius pushed the score to 52-30 by the end of the third, a deficit Lutheran East cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Quinn Woidke, who scored 24 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Matt Ellis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. Ignatius' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Lutheran East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-3.
St. Ignatius won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Buchtel at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Buchtel will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 229th, while St. Ignatius is ranked first). As for Lutheran East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brush at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
