Yuma Catholic is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Peoria is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks will take on the Peoria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Yuma Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Northwest Christian on the road as they won 24-10.
It was another big night for Tayt Ford, who rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Ford hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Yuma Catholic also got help from Sir Stokes who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Peoria can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carl Hayden Community 55-0 on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Peoria's ten-point performance the game before.
Dominic Kramer and Javon Bell were among the main playmakers for Peoria as the former threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes and the latter rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Bell is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Yuma Catholic's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Peoria, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Yuma Catholic against Peoria when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 49-8 victory. Does Yuma Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Peoria turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
