Trey Scheler and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
Trey Scheler's big game helped extend Cheyenne Wells's winning streak to seven on Friday. Scheler rushed for 256 yards and five touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 41 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 120 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Cheyenne Wells' win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Scheler and Cheyenne Wells will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Hanover at 1:00 p.m.

William Ledbetter Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
William Ledbetter posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.
This season, Ledbetter has run in 19 touchdowns while averaging 105.9 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 12.88 rushing yards per game.

Maddox Coleman put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He threw for 233 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Coleman is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Kit Carson on Friday. Coleman threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns the last time he and the Wildcats duked it out back in October of 2023.
