The Logos Prep Academy Lions and the Hill Country Christian School of Austin Knights squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Logos Prep Academy Lions had to settle for second. Logos Prep Academy fell 68-58 to Hill Country Christian School of Austin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did back in October (50), Logos Prep Academy still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Logos Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: Brayden Tibbetts threw for 527 yards and eight touchdowns. Tibbetts has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Clayton Goldy was in the mix too, providing Logos Prep Academy with two touchdowns.
Ethan Howard got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 171 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Curry, who gained 67 total yards and a touchdown.
Logos Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Logos Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hill Country Christian School of Austin will take on Veritas Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Veritas Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
