Belen has gone a perfect 10-0 against Los Alamos recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Hilltoppers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Belen took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Highland get on the board and left with a 23-0 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Honey Mirabal was incredible, firing off three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lorissa Scott was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Los Alamos came tearing into Saturday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Sundevils.
Malaya Haynes made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jamie Cisneros, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kohynn Young, who went 2-for-5 with four runs and two doubles.
Los Alamos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Belen has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Los Alamos, they pushed their record up to 16-5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything went Belen's way against Los Alamos in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Belen made off with an 18-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
