The Horizon Huskies will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Chaparral Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. Horizon has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9.
Last Friday, Horizon was beaten by the Wolves 76-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Horizon in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite their defeat, Horizon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ethan Hayes, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Rodgers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Horizon were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 13th loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, even though Cactus Shadows scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Chaparral still came out on top. Chaparral walked away with a 68-55 win over the Falcons. 68 seems to be a good number for Chaparral as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Horizon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Chaparral, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Horizon was dealt a bruising 74-39 loss at the hands of the Firebirds when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will Horizon have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
