Des Lacs-Burlington's Eric Knutson recorded the longest rushing play in A Region 3 this season in his game against Williams County co-op [Tioga/Ray] last week. Knutson's team topped the Firestorm as he sprinted for 53 yards on the play and finished with 86 in all.
Des Lacs-Burlington was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping Williams County co-op [Tioga/Ray]. James Johnson's team came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Des Lacs-Burlington's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lakers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Austin Schestler has thrown for 439 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Cole Edwards has 9 catches for 153 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Berthold/Our Redeemer's Christian/North Shore takes on Rugby. The Bombers are in third place, while the Panthers are in second place.
Harvey/Fessenden-Bowdon was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Hornets defeated Surrey 56-16 earlier in the week.
