After both having extra time off, the Tacony Academy Charter Lions and the Thomas A. Edison Owls will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tacony Academy Charter has four straight wins, Thomas A. Edison has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tacony Academy Charter's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. They blew past Penn Treaty 11-0. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Aniya Askins-Pinkney was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubryella Thomas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Tacony Academy Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .812. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .629 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Thomas A. Edison didn't have quite enough to beat Prep Charter last Tuesday and fell 10-9.
Marisol Valencia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Nylah Borges was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs.
Thomas A. Edison's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Tacony Academy Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tacony Academy Charter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .467. However, it's not like Thomas A. Edison struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
