The Tate Aggies won the last time they faced the Pace Patriots, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Tate greeted the New Year with with a 67-52 victory over Pace. Given Tate's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Pace is ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Lucas Williams, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Evan Bignell, who scored 13 points along with three blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Tate and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Pace, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tate will take on Jay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pace, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Niceville at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Niceville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 271 points over their last four matches.
