While it was all tied up 6-6 at halftime, The Avon Falcons were not quite the Rocky Hill Terriers''s equal in the second half on Friday. Avon was the victim of a rough 28-6 loss at the hands of Rocky Hill. Avon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rocky Hill apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Rocky Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Veal out in front who picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Veal was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 64 yards. Joseph Motes was another key contributor, throwing for 184 yards and three touchdowns.
Avon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.7 points per game. As for Rocky Hill, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-6.
Avon will take on South Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against RHAM at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (RHAM is ranked 108th, while Rocky Hill is ranked 133rd).
