Motivation has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Northeast Vikings at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Motivation didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Randolph Vo-Tech, but they still walked away with a 49-43 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Motivation has scored all season.
Kevin Looney was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Siriman Singare, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Northeast waltzed into their game Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 58-43 win over String Theory. Given Northeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while String Theory is ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darrius Gaeta, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Freeman, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Motivation pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Northeast, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
