Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Takes a Loss

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's game on Saturday was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pendleton Heights Arabians. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Arabians are ranked 123rd).

When it comes to explaining why Indianapolis Bishop Chatard lost, don't look at Cash Moore. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 16 en route to 20 points. That's the most points Moore has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Chris Hill, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Cooper Sims was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 18 on his way to 30 points and six rebounds for Pendleton Heights. The game was Sims' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Estes, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Pendleton Heights, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will face off against Brownsburg at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Brownsburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Pendleton Heights, they will host Lapel at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. One thing working in Pendleton Heights' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
