The South Hills Huskies will head out to challenge the Alta Loma Braves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. South Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Alta Loma's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
South Hills will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Wednesday, then bounced right back against Colony on Wednesday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Huskies have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Parker Milton spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charli Moreno was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Saguin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
South Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. They are 13-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alta Loma, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against San Dimas on Wednesday, sneaking past 5-4.
The team relied heavily on Ava Salazar, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Izabella Poveda was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.
South Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Alta Loma, their record now sits at 11-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. South Hills hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Alta Loma struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
South Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over Alta Loma in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
