Rochester extended the longest winning streak in Central State Eight this week by beating Lincoln, 47-8. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Jacksonville moved up to 110 from 137 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Crimsons climbed the ranks as a result of beating Mater Dei 41-14.
Rochester's dynamic duo of Austin Green and Blake Pasley proved tough for the Railsplitters to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Green threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns and Pasley had 82 yards receiving. Garret Dooley helped Rochester's passing attack out by catching two balls for 50 yards.
Brinton Wilkey was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 158 yards on 28 carries as Springfield bested Lincoln. Malik Harrison also contributed to the rushing game with 138 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Green of the Rockets is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1896. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, the Senators' Wilkey has rushed for 864 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Reggie Bratton. The Jacksonville star has 39 catches for 832 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Rochester takes on Jacksonville. The Rockets' offense has recorded 375 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Mark Grounds' team has permitted only 122 on the year.
Rochester's Green is within 104 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Crimsons.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Springfield takes on Glenwood. As it stands, R.J. Luke's team is in fourth, while the Titans are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Rockets take on Jacksonville. Rochester has allowed 152 points this season, while the Crimsons have given up 122. The Rockets allowed 8 points last week as they beat Jared Shanner's team.
