The Cairo Pilots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Wednesday after their fifth straight  defeat. They were beaten by Murphysboro 75-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points Cairo has scored all season.
  Jeserick Pilgram was Cairo's leading scorer, having posted five points.
 Cairo has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record  this season. As for Murphysboro, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cairo will take on Lovejoy at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Cairo is coming into the  game with five straight  defeats at home,  meaning Lovejoy will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory. Murphysboro will take on Wayne City at 7:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Wayne City will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Murphysboro is ranked 197th).
