Basketball Recap: Cathedral Academy Skates Past Charleston Collegiate with Ease

There's no place like home for Cathedral Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 78-36 victory over the Charleston Collegiate Sundevils. The Generals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 20 points or more this season.

Cathedral Academy found their leader in sophomore Bryce Ward, who went 9-for-15 on his way to 22 points and four steals. That's the most steals Ward has posted since back in January. Dominic Felix was another key player, going 5-for-6 to rack up 11 points and eight boards.

Cathedral Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They posted 11 more assists than Charleston Collegiate's also-impressive total of ten.

When it comes to explaining why Charleston Collegiate lost, don't look at Grant Morrison. Despite the final result, he put up ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Morrison is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 24 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Clayton Smith, who had eight points.

Cathedral Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-12 record this season. As for Charleston Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Cathedral Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charleston Collegiate, they will face off against Our Lady of the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Charleston Collegiate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.
