The Lafayette County Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Bradley Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lafayette County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oden 52-18 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lafayette County has posted since December 11, 2023.
Lafayette County relied on the efforts of Trinity McKinney, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and JaMaya Davis, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Morse, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Bradley was fully in charge two weeks ago, breezing past Oden 49-14 at home. Given Bradley's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Oden is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lafayette County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Bradley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.
Lafayette County took a serious blow against Bradley in their previous meeting on January 2nd, falling 58-22. Can Lafayette County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
