Having just played yesterday, the Mountain Ridge Sentinels will jump right back in to play the Skyline Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
On Wednesday, things could have been worse for Mountain Ridge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-46 loss to Mountain View. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain Ridge in their matchups with Mountain View: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite their defeat, Mountain Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Will Lindsay, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was Lindsay's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Sylvester, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Skyline scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past American Leadership Academy 71-48. Given Skyline's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while American Leadership Academy is ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mountain Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Skyline, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
Mountain Ridge and Skyline were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but Mountain Ridge came up empty-handed after a 61-60 defeat. Thankfully for Mountain Ridge, Yorgio Golesis (who scored 26 points along with five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
