The North Knox Warriors suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Pike Central, falling 80-41. While losing is never fun, North Knox can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Pike Central is ranked 144th).
It was another big night for Quade Morton, who scored 33 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Pike Central. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Gish, who scored 22 points along with five assists and two steals.
North Knox has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Pike Central, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Knox will take on Washington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington Catholic has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Pike Central, they will stay at home for another game and welcome South Spencer at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in South Spencer's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
