The West Jordan Jaguars were the 76-50 winner over the Layton Christian Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. West Jordan received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 60-46 to Layton Christian Academy. West Jordan can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their three games.
Despite the loss, West Jordan still got an impressive performance from Colton Blackham, who scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Cox, who scored 7 points.
Layton Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyrin Jones led the charge by scoring 17 points. The match was Jones' third in a row with at least ten points. Atlas Dong was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
West Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Layton Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
West Jordan will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Ridge and West Jordan are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Layton Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
