Nolan Brammer and Chase Jeffrey provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Apple Valley. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in Mojave River this season.
Serrano extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sultana, 56-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Diamondbacks.
Serrano's dynamic duo of Daniel Epperson and Cade Tropila proved tough for the Sultans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Epperson threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns and Tropila had 134 yards receiving. Kyle Jergensen helped Serrano's passing attack out by catching two balls for 93 yards.
Tyler Murphy was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 129 yards on 25 carries as the Sun Devils bested Sultana. Dianggello Guillory also contributed to the rushing game with four yards on the ground.
Bradley Kistner made the biggest impact on defense this week as Oak Hills defeated Apple Valley. The 6-foot-0 sophomore grabbed one interception and racked up 0.5 sack.
6-foot-0 quarterback Epperson of the Diamondbacks is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1348. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. On the ground, Frank Pulice's team's Murphy has rushed for 1071 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Christopher Crummel. The Hesperia star has 37 catches for 631 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hesperia takes on Serrano. As it stands, the Scorpions are in fourth, while the Diamondbacks are in first.
