The Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Covenant Day Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harrells Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Covenant Day likes a good challenge.
Harrells Christian Academy's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Hickory Grove Christian's usually-dominant defense. The Crusaders really took it to the Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Jeremiah Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 146 yards and two TDs on only six carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Dashaun McKoy was in the mix as well, providing Harrells Christian Academy with two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Harrells Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Harrells Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as McKoy, Jesse Smith, and Davis picked up one apiece. Smith got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Covenant Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Trinity Christian and fell 43-6. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Crusaders are ranked 123rd).
Harrells Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Covenant Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Harrells Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 28-6 loss they got from Covenant Day when the teams last played back in August of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Crusaders were down 21-0.
