The Spring Valley Grizzlies pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Centennial. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (57), Spring Valley still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Spring Valley still got an impressive performance from Alijah Adem, who scored 28 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Adem hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. CJ Joshua was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Spring Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Centennial, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Foothill the next time they take the court. Centennial will host Foothill at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Spring Valley will host them at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
