Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Daniel Lions walked away with it. They secured a 28-23 W over the Bears on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for Daniel, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.
Kolton Chapman was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 144 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Belton-Honea Path lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marquise Henderson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Daniel has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 14-0 record. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.75 points. As for Belton-Honea Path, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-1.
Daniel will face off against Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Camden knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Daniel likes a good challenge. Belton-Honea Path does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
