The Marin Academy Wildcats will face off against the University Red Devils at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Marin Academy gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They never let San Domenico onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Marin Academy considering their one-goal performance the game before.
They hit San Domenico with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Sophian Lovato,
Tristan Schauble,
Ronan Mackay, and
Miles Potter.
Meanwhile, University had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals), and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Lick-Wilmerding 1-0. Watts Richmond had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble University got from the refs.
Marin Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4-2 record this season. As for University, they pushed their record up to 13-5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Marin Academy beat University 2-0 in their previous matchup back in January. Does Marin Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will University turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
