The West Islip Lions had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down Babylon 47-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Islip also won the last time the pair played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Babylon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Giavanna Randazzo. Despite the final result, she scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Randazzo has scored all season.
West Islip's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Babylon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
West Islip does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Babylon will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Centereach at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
