Grant dropped their record down to 8-12 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cleveland Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-5 defeat back in April.
Abigail Butler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nora DuLong, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
As for Cleveland, they pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.
On Cleveland's side, Jillian Lee made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits.
