The Mineral Wells Rams had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 36-28 win over Burkburnett on Friday. The victory was just what Mineral Wells needed coming off of a 42-7 loss in their prior contest.
Loss or not, Burkburnett got some senior leadership from Elijah Maldonado who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns and Kyler Kirkland who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Mineral Wells' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Burkburnett, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Mineral Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Burkburnett will head out on the road to face off against Randall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
