Mission Trail recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Mission Trail this week, Pacific Grove beat King City 42-41. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Breakers.
Stevenson took down Gonzales 56-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Drew Miller ran for 240 yards and caught 1 pass for 13 yards in the win.
Miller was a force in the backfield as the Pirates bested the Spartans.
Luke Lowell threw for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 15-24 with 1 interception.
Jake Speed was the best receiver in the league this week as Pacific Grove beat the Mustangs. Speed racked up 6 receptions for 136 yards. Dylan Chesney helped Pacific Grove's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 79 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Speed. The Pacific Grove star has 35 catches for 795 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Pacific Grove takes on second place Carmel. Last week, Chris Morgan's team defeated King City, while Carmel bested Soledad.
Stevenson's Miller needs only 18 yards against Marina next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Miller has rushed for 982 yards on 148 carries so far this year.
One of Mission Trail's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Padres and the Breakers face off next week. Connor Marden has thrown for 1,730 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Zack Brown has plagued opposing QBs to the tune of 6.0 sacks.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Pacific Grove takes on Carmel. The Breakers have allowed 147 points this season, while Golden Anderson's team has given up 171. Pacific Grove allowed 41 points last week as it topped Mac Villanueva's team.
There should be lots of points scored when the Breakers and the Padres face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Pacific Grove comes in having scored 404 this season, while Carmel has scored 384. The Breakers scored 42 points last week as they beat the Mustangs.
