Lindbergh and Evergreen are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Eagles will host the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lindbergh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Lindbergh is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Chief Sealth on Saturday. They came up short against the Seahawks, falling 11-1. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Lindbergh saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Steiner, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Steiner's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Evergreen beat Foster 7-4 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.
Riley Coughlin and Wilder Amechazurra made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Coughlin didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Amechazurra pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Evergreen is undefeated when Amechazurra allows two or fewer hits, but 0-2-1 otherwise. At the plate, Coughlin went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double, while Amechazurra went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those seven stolen bases gave Amechazurra a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jose Cardenas was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Cardenas is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
Evergreen now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Lindbergh, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lindbergh has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Evergreen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lindbergh might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Evergreen in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
