West Iredell have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge Patton on the road at 7:30 PM on Friday. West Iredell will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
West Iredell strolled past East Burke with points to spare two weeks ago, taking the match 47-28. Junior Emmanuel Long was the offensive standout of the match for West Iredell, as he rushed for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Long's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past three games.
Meanwhile, Patton took their contest against East Burke last Friday by a conclusive 29-7 score.the rankings were on Patton's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result
Their wins bumped West Iredell to 4-3 and Patton to 4-4. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when West Iredell and Patton clash.
